A fast-paced adventure Bali round trip, combining the magic of East Java’s volcanoes and wildlife. Trek to the famous Ijen Crater with its turquoise lake and mystical blue flames, venture deep into the rainforest of Meru Betiri National Park to witness turtles nesting at Sukamade Beach, and finish your journey with a ferry crossing to Bali.

This short overland trip is perfect if you want to see East Java’s highlights in just 3 days. You’ll experience a dramatic volcanic landscape, jungle wildlife, and end the journey conveniently in Bali.

Day 1 :

Pick up Bali and Transfer Sukamade

Meeting service with our staff at your Hotel around 08.00 AM and continue 3-4 hours drive to Gilimanuk ferry port

Crossing Bali strait with ferryto Ketapang ferry port – Java for about 1 hours,

afterward we will transfer to Sukamade area by 4x4 jeep, for about 4 hours drive.

Along the way, you may see endless plantation of coffee, cacao, and traditional rubber tapping. We will visit a local village to see palm sugar process in traditional way and also stop for fisherman village at Rejegwesi beach.

Option tour : Visit Red Island/Pulau Merah Beach - Teluk Ijo/Green Bay

Trip we be continue by entering Merubetiri national park for Stay overnight at simple Sukamade Guesthouse.

After simple dinner at the guesthouse, proceed to the Sukamade beach for the turtle excursion (sightings are not guaranteed). See the turtles slowly walk up ashore to lay their eggs. Then back to the guesthouse for overnight.

Day 2 :

Sukamade transfer to Banyuwangi / Ijen area

After simple breakfast we will continue to Banyuwangi or Ijen base area for stay overnight, it takes around 4 hours drive.

Day 3 :

Ijen trekking and drop off Bali

Early in the morning around 05.00 AM, we will drive to Paltuding area(start trekking point). Along the way you will be serve by a rain forrest and coffee plantation view.

Option tour: Blue fire tour we will start from hotel @ midnight around 01.00AM.

After that you take a 3 km trek to the crater. This volcano offers a savannah landscape, ruggedly beautiful panoramas, grand hiking, and a placid, brightly yellow crater-lake. The summit of Mt. Ijen is a gorgeous crater filled with haunting turquoise-blue lake with its surface streaked in the wind blow patterns of yellow sulfur vapor. By the crater lake edge, there is an evil-smelling sulfur where local people digging and carrying 70-80 kgs on their bare shoulders for 2 miles ascending and descending steep Mt. Ijen wall.

The trip will be continue by crossing Bali strait with ferry for 1 hour, arrive at Gilimanuk port and continue 3-4 hours drive to your destination in Bali. TOUR FINISHED

Where does the tour start and end?

This trip typically starts in Surabaya and ends in either Surabaya or Bali. We can customize drop-off in Malang, Banyuwangi, or Bali depending on your travel plans.

How difficult are the hikes?

Bromo: Easy to moderate. A jeep takes you most of the way, followed by a short climb to the crater rim.

Ijen: Moderate. The trek is about 3 km uphill (1.5–2 hours) and requires a basic level of fitness

Tumpak Sewu: Challenging. Steep descent with ropes, bamboo ladders, and river crossings — best for those with good mobility.

Sukamade: No trekking required, but the access road is bumpy and adventurous.

What is the highest altitude reached in this trek?

The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.

What should I bring for the tour?

Warm clothes (temperatures can drop below 5°C at Bromo & Ijen)

Comfortable trekking shoes

Flashlight or headlamp (for Ijen night hike)

Mask/scarf (to protect from sulfur gas at Ijen)

Is it safe to visit volcanoes ?

Yes. All activities are led by experienced guides. We monitor volcanic activity and weather conditions closely, and we only run tours when it’s safe.

What about internet access?

Yes. The Internet can be accessed in most places and wifi at Hotel.

What kind of accommodation is included?

We provide comfortable mid-range hotels near Bromo & Ijen, and a basic jungle lodge at Sukamade (simple but clean, no luxury facilities). Upgrades are possible in other locations.

Do you offer private or group tours?

Most travelers prefer a private tour for flexibility and comfort, but group tours can be arranged on request.
